The Minotaur is a Greek monster that has the head of a bull and the body of a man. He lived in the Cretan Labyrinth, which belonged to, and was commissioned by, King Minos . When King Minos was a powerful king, he made ambushes on the Athenians. After this, the Athenians agreed to send 7 boys and 7 girls, whose names were drawn by lots, every seventh or ninth year to the Labyrinth where the Minotaur would eat them. Then, Theseus, son of King Aegeus of Athens, was sent to the Labyrinth, and slayed the monster.
